The driver side back window does not roll down and the rear defroster doesn't work, but I've never seen a mid eighties lincoln with one that works.
My last car was an '81 and my next will be an '87 maybe.
These cars are god's gift to us, every body should own one.
It even has the original floor mats with the Cartier logo on them.
The digital dash and message board was a head of its time.
I was just thinking you said everyone should own one of these I don't think so we who own them are the select few of classy drivers and owners.
Oh please... the Town Car was and is a Crown Vic/Grand Marquis with some styling changes and added electronic crap.
One that is now 19 years old has all the cachet of an empty coke can.
Like how you made sure to capitalize Cartier's name, but not God's...
Hey give him a break the guy is proud of his car, and well he should be it's a great car. Kudos to you and your LTC.
I own a 1986 Town Car Cartier. I'm not a Ford fan, but the 302 has almost 400,000 miles on it and all I did to the motor was a water pump, valve cover gaskets and replaced the radiator.
I also ditched all four cats and ran dual exhaust, which increased mileage and power.
All of the electronics work including the digital dash and message center, auto headlight dimming and delay, keyless entry, auto load leveling, power seats and even the auto night mode center rearview mirror works!However... the aod trannies are really crappy; I'm on my second trans and I lost 2nd gear almost two years ago, although the rest of the trans held together.
The A/C is ice cold and the beast gets better highway mileage than my wife's V6 Buick Skylark.
In short, I do love the car!
