Dash cracked.
Radio works some what.
Rear view mirror fell off.
AC needs to be fixed.
Air supply check valve broke.
High beam switch broke.
Swapped my computer for this car, and love it.
More than enough room in it for my 4
children and wife and of course me. Three children still in car seats.
Very comfortable.
Car is solid from one end to the other with no rust under it, and only one rust spot on the body.
Seats are still in good shape for the year of the car, and that leaves me to think the car spent some time in storage.
Never fails to start, and is driven every day.
Is great on gas, but gas tank is way to small, cheap to fill about $15.00 when empty. $32.00 in gas for 500 plus miles
was not bad if you consider the size of the car.
Handles great, and will drive all day at 80 or 85 and never miss a beat.
Lincoln town car slipping in overdrive is sometimes a little rubber bushing by the acc. cable.
Well I Just bought my 86 town car from a very nice older man.
The car has 80,000 miles on it. drives like a dream. shes pretty fast, I must agree with everyone else that the 86 seems way more powerfull than the 87 in my driveway. THe 86 has a really weird hiss notice that comes from the transmission slector can't make it go away. and the windows ARE VERY TOUCHY. They all worked when I brought her home and now only the rear right side works without a problem.
I got my 1986 Lincoln Town Car about 2 years ago from a lady who had bought a newer one. she told me the 86 rode better than her newer one. I had dual glass packs instaled on it. It runs great with over 150000 miles on it. The only thing I have been out on it is a battery. I love this car, my wife told me she was going bury me with it when I go.
