2008 Maruti Swift LXI review from India
"Missing feature car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Well it's new so nothing has gone wrong till now.
General comments?
This car has got the best suspension according to me. They are really build up to handle rough roads in my country (India).
Seats are not at all comfortable in view; very large & hard as well.
Interior the cheapest quality I have ever come across. It feels like the plastic has been recycled from plastic chairs available in the market. The door plastic cover, which holds the power window console is just like cardboard. It can be easily get broken if a 5 year old kid would punch it.
The brakes of the cars are really strong, maybe it's new, that`s why.
Fuel consumption, well I don;t know exact figures in the city, must be around 10-11, but on highways it's 17 kmpl.
The room of the car is huge as compared to other cars in its class.
The car steering wheel feels like you're driving a small truck. Despite being power steering, it's really heavy & hard to move. My other car, a Daewoo Matiz, has steering that rotates smoothly despite not being a power steering.
A/C cooling is best on highways. You need to turn it off after a few intervals when you're driving on long journeys. On the other hand, in the city the blower has to be on minimum on 2nd speed to get the room chilled.
The car costs me 4.45 lakhs, but still this car doesn't have the things which my other car has (Daewoo Matiz).
1) Comfortable seats.
2) Pleasure driving an old car in all the basis.
3) Low fuel indicator lamp. A feature missing in Swift.
4) Great interior.
5) High performance engine.
6) good looks (swift`s front position is good to see but rear really awful)
7) Great front view & rear view (both missing in swift)
8) Good visibility on side mirrors.
9) Very cheap on gas & very reliable engine.
10) Very strong A/C in cities as well on highways.
As these features are missing in Swift, which makes this car not acceptable. But this car is with my father as I hardly drive it.
Overall this can be good for youngsters who want to drive a car really fast & need to race around. This car is perfect for that.
