1987 Mazda 323 LX review from Australia and New Zealand
"A good student car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Noisy fan belt.
Large rust patch under the spare tire (towbar mounts).
Idled pretty rough when I first bought it, a new air filter, and a fiddle around with the accelerator cable on the carby, fixed it.
General comments?
Fuel consumption is excellent. Top speed about 140 KPH.
Easy to park and maneuvere, despite the absence of power steering.
Low maintenance, cheap to run, forgiving drive. A good first car for young people.
Being a small car, some of my taller friends (over 6') can only sit in the front with the slider adjustment right back. Backs seats are for people under 5' 7" or luggage only.
Reasonable boot space.
