2004 Mazda 6 GT review from North America
"Excellent value for the Money"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The entire engine had to be replaced at 792 kilometres which was just two weeks after purchase. Valve dropped and the piston cracked - a manufacturing error was blamed and it was repaired under warranty. Due to problems or lack of inventory in Canada, it took two months to get the car back. this was aggravating to say the least and disappointing.
Seems to use more coolant than is normal - service dealer advised this could be displacemnt of air in the system.
Drivers lights come on intermittently, whther I am driving the car or if it is parked in the driveway with no keys in the ignition! It is particulary noticeable when I am washing the car. Hopefully this has been fixed now, after all the ground wires were checked and tightened.
General comments?
The car handles extremely well, and looks great. I made the decison to purchase this car after looking and test driving the Toyota, Nissan, Honda and others. I found it was better equipped than many, and that it did not feel like a car designed for a middle aged male executive or a senior. It felt much more suited to a woman in "fit and design" As a bonus it did not have the faus wood trim on the interior many cars are equipped with.
