2004 Mazda Mazda6 sport wagon, I have had trouble with the clutch (never knowing where it will engage) and the throttle (have to get the RPMs up before letting the clutch out). Flooring the throttle after shifting from first to second, the vehicle would slowly accelerate. Had it back to the dealer several times for that issue, and was told they could not recreate the problem. One has to be very cautious to perform perfect shifts from first to second or the vehicle will buck. The car has less than 11,000 miles, and is still under warranty.
The radio broke, had it back to dealer twice, hung out at the dealership waiting for it to be repaired after first visit, and was told they were going to order a radio. After a second visit was told someone sent the wrong part. Was told to call the following week, was directed to leave a message and someone would get back to me. Haven't heard from them since. Emailed Mazda and received a automated email, then contacted the BBB. This all happened last month, still nothing. I don't expect any satisfaction, short of a court order.
I was a fool to buy a Mazda/Ford, don't you do the same.
Anyone having any corrosion issues with their Mazda? I have a 2003 and both back wheel wells are rusting through to the outside.
I purchase my 2004 Mazda 6 S brand new.
At 36,000 miles my clutch was slipping and had to be replaced. I have drove stick for for over 18 years and never had to replaced a clutch. I had to have my mechanic drive my Mazda because I did not know what was strong! I still had the original tires and brakes on my Mazda when my clutch started to slip. Only goes to prove I was not beating the heck out of this car.
I spoke with Mazda and they would not do anything at all for me. As in previous post, Mazda stated it was driver's error that caused two blue spots on my fly wheel. As I explained to Mazda; I could show this fly wheel to 10 mechanics and five could say it my fault or it is Mazda's fault. Total subjective!!!
My best revenge on Mazda, which is owned by Ford, has been to persuade five friends and family members not to purchase any Mazdas or Ford products. As I told Mazda, "your lack of understand and assistance will cost your company more than a million dollars by all the people I will persuade not to purchase from your company." They did not care! What I am afraid of is when my Mazda hit 75,000 miles, will I need to replace the clutch again?
