"A fairly decent mid-sized 4cyl car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Chipped alloy wheels, not fault of the car however.
Average wear and tear that can be expected.
General comments?
The car has average performance from the 4 cylinder engine, ~122kW. My only gripes are that the engine drinks only Premium unleaded, and a 6 cylinder variant isn't offered, especially in the luxury models (excluding the 4cyl. turbo engine in the "MPS" model.)
The driving aspect is pretty good, and it drives fairly well, much better than my previous `93 Camry. It has decent peformance for a mid-sized 4 cylinder.
The cabin is well-equipped, the Classic variant having Power windows and mirrors, cruise, climate control, and so on. The cabin is spacious enough, and nice and modern. The seats are a bit dull, however.
Overall, the car is nice to drive, and the tiptronic Auto comes in handy at times. However, if performance is what you're really looking for in a mid-sized car, a 6 cylinder or turbocharged car may be what you're looking for.
