General comments?
What a surprise! Performance: The engine is a performer and will deliver great fuel mileage if driven reasonably.
Handling: Great on the straight away, tackles high speed curves and dips in the road very well, yet it delivers a comfortable ride. I've had it as fast as 142 MPH and yet it will gets close to 30 MPG at moderate highway speeds. It has a responsive, smooth shifting 6 speed automatic transmission and a Mazda/Ford Duratec 30 engine. Wikipedia states Mazda's MZI version adds variable valve timing, as does Jaguar's AJ30. It displaces 2967 cc with an 89 mm bore and 79.5 mm stroke. Output (on the MPV) is 200 hp at 6200 RPM with 200 ft·lbf (271 N·m) of torque at 3000 rpm. Note that the MZI name is also used in Europe on Mazda's version of the Ford Sigma I4.
