Tranny bad after 45000 miles then again at 93000. Dealer provided very little in the way of acceptable service.
No reason to buy this car or take a chance on this manufacturer.

I would never consider another Mazda based upon my experience with this car and my dealer in Houston.
I believe that if your transmission went bad after 45K and 90K, that indicates a problem with the way the car was being driven, not the transmission itself. Regardless of conformity between manufactured products, there is still VERY little likelihood of a conformist failure. Try driving the car instead of forcing it.
I drive a 1995 Mazda and has over 160K on it. No problems and it never let me down. No transmission problems. I think the problems is how you treat your car. If you never take care of your car, it will not take care of you. Your transmission problems are yours not Mazda's. They build solid quality cars.
I love my Mazda 626.
