1999 Mazda 626 LX review from North America
"Awesome little family car, does all you need it to and more"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Back struts and pins died.
Brakes let go.
Heat cools off at stops.
Radio goes blank at times.
Antenna tends to have issues.
Runs rough when extremely cold.
Bad gaskets on the radiator.
Bad radiator reservoir in general (simple fix though).
Center belt in the back seat kept getting stuck, replaced three times.
General comments?
Very reliable.
Hardly ever broken down to the point where you can't drive it.
Over drive is marvelous (slight lag though).
Good transmission when the car's been warmed up.
Handles wonderful, even for the inexperienced driver.
Has enough strength to make even the toughest hills, yet gentle enough to go slow when needed.
Definitely a touring car, very comfortable performance at 40 MPH.
Great gas mileage when air conditioner is not in use.
Tune up was easy enough.
Keep radiator fluid with you, it doesn't have problems often, but when it does, you'll notice the effects quickly.
