You had to of put that car through hell because I own the same model and its in great condition and I'm 19 and I drive the hell out of it. I think you just don't take good care of your car like you should. but that's me.
I have a 96 Mazda 626 and I hate it. it has more problems with it then I can count on my fingers. it leaks oil, it screams at me when I turn it on, and the heat works after about 45 minutes of driving. there are many other problems with it too. I have only had it for a year now and I loved it at first, but now I want to run it off a cliff. I might have been able to save it if the problems came on one at a time, but it seems like one day it was great and the next day it went down the pooper and I have all kinds of problems with it now. it seems like I fix one thing and two weeks go by and the same thing is wrong with it once again. its crap!

I would say, go to Amazon.com and buy a Haynes Manual for your 626. Your problems sound minor. The squealing is probably a loose belt. The poor heat is probably an indication of a need for a cooling system flush. You have to do maintenance on things, or they go downhill.
