1994 Mazda 626 ES V6 review from North America
"Don't buy high mileage"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Since I bought the car it gave me
nothing, but problems. I changed the timing belt, alternator, 4 brakes, rotors, calipers. The electric light always goes on for no apparent reason.
Mazda has checked it out and charged me big bucks for doing nothing. I think most 6 cylinder cars can last you upto 350,000 km if you look after it, but it seems that the previous owner "just drove it" without maintaining it.
General comments?
Mazda 626 is a good car if bought from under 100,000 km. It is a fast car, faster than Honda Civic Si. 0 to 60 mph in 7.7 seconds, 175 bhp. It is smooth. But check the car history before you buy it. I think the person who owned it before me just drove it to the ground without any maintenance. So I got the brunt of it and in 1 year have spent over $4000 Canadian. A lot. Not worth it.
