Driverside Transaxle went bad after intense torcher. But cheap to fix..
Also pasengerside Wheelbearing, also cheap to fix.
The 626 Turbo GT tops out at 135MPH.
Not one Honda or Acura beat this car yet.
Love the interior, and sunroof.
Well worth the money I paid, $1800.
1990 4door GT has 188,000 miles and stock ran 15.1 sec 1/4mile. After a intake and TurboX blow off valve, it ran 14.6 seconds.
You say -"not one Honda or Acura has ever beaten this car"...
Sounds like its been "raced"
You say- "after intense torture"...
Sounds like this car has been tortured.
A good interior and a sun roof don't change or make up for the fact that this car has been rode hard and abused. If it has been raced and tortured there are sure to be many more problems and that is why you are trying to get rid of the car more than likely. That is all.
I used to own a 1989 626 gt hatchback.
The bad thing about that is that I sold it 5 years ago and I always regretted it. Since then I have been driving very recent cars like a 2004 v6 altima.
But being nostalgic I want another one right now!
The one I had was champagne exterior / burgundy interior
and I never had a problem with it. I sold it for $1200 and it had 415000km (278000 miles) on its original turbo and engine and it still made me smile everytime the right foot got heavy. I would describe this car as a reliable japanese SAAB. All I can say to those who have one ENJOY!
