1997 Mazda 626 ES review from North America
"Don't buy this car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Bearing at 50000
Left Axle at 51000
Battery 70000
Rencompinion (I don't know the correct spelling) at 80000
Transmission at 85000
Both Axles at 85000
O2 Sensor 89000.
General comments?
This car is just a money trap! The transmission failed at 85000 and I had to pay $1400 to put another one from a junk yard. The front and back suspensions really have a bad problem. The car keeps making all kinds of noises while turning. It is not fast even with the 2.5L V6 engine with overdrive, I was beaten by a 1.6L Honda CRX!! I paid about $7000 to buy this car and I ended up paying about $5000 more in 2 years and at last I was not willing to spend any more money so I just sold it. The good news is, you can sell it at a reasonable amount of money unlike ford for example. I guess Mazda still have some of the old good reputation.
