God, it's been so bad first, I had to replace the throttle body,by the time I was through with that, and a tune up, my bill, was $1100.00, two converters, the h2o sensors, three times, (I only run 93 octane) just and expensive car to maintain, replaced transmission, CV joints few times, car still has no power and it's a dog on fuel.
All this car is, is a glorified ford escort,, biggest waste of money, just the thought of it makes me hate this car more..
Your review makes it sound like you still own this car, but then you indicate you last owned it in 2001 (?)
<<I only run 93 octane>> WHY???
The 2.0 in this car was designed to run on 87 octane. Putting 93 octane in it is a waste of money, not only will it NOT make it run better, it will create more deposits inside the engine due to the slower-burning nature of the higher octane fuel. It is quite possible that this practice also necessitated the 02 (not H20--lol) sensor replacement. If your car pings on 87 octane then it has other problems, like carbon deposits, that should be fixed.
OK I've had my mazda 626 1997 model for about 5 years now. Yea the transmission isn't that reliable it goes for about 100 thousand miles and their it goes. but everything else has put up with me exceeding over 110 miles per hour, drifting, and other wild things I have done in my day and I think the reason my transmission went out was cause of all the mis-wrecks and bumps... hard bumps I have hit. it basically dose have a ford engine in it, but the rest of it can put up with a lot more than you let it go for. >>> I only payed $500 to get trans rebuild<<< this care in repairs has only cost me up to... maybe 800 dollars to date. my CV joints just went out, but its only running me 50 dollars each for parts and I can install myself. "i added the 100 in to the repairs already" over all I think this care is good for over 200 thousand miles for the casual driver. if its just for school/work/going to relatives "not sport" then I think this car would be perfect.
