1989 Mazda 626 ie Sedan review from Australia and New Zealand
"I'm not sure if I ever want another car, I'll just fix mine up and keep it good"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Electric window switches are a bit dodgy, but still work.
Fuel Hatch wouldn't open at 194000kms, pulled it off.
Clutch fluid system needed replacement at 178000kms.
Rear wheels go out of alignment sometimes when doing handbrake turns and getting sideways.
Ground Clearence About 1 inch to low to the ground.
General comments?
Awesome Power package for a little 4-cylinder, faster than a lot of cars it's size, without redlining I can do 50kph in 1st, 90kph in 2nd, 130kph in 3rd, 170kph in 4th, and 210kph in 5th. Can keep up with a 202 WB Ute off the mark.
Very easy to drive and control at speed and on slippery surfaces.
Top of the mark suspension, I can run speed bumps at 80kph and barely feel them.
Gets about 600km on 40L of unleaded, although I once got 735km.
Easy to correct if your get sideways.
Real Comfy Bucket seats and good leg room.
Sporty gear shifting, smooth, quick and easy.
