1997 Mazda 626 LX review from North America
"Very reliable for the money and easy to upgrade"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
At 70,000 I had problems with the O2 sensors. check engine kept coming on. had to replace upstream and down stream O2 (2)
Also at 70,000 rplaced the catalyic converter.
Paint on the door handles has began to peel off. had to touch it up.
Suspension squeaks a little now (125,000) replaced cv boots and hub bearing! still rattles. might be the tire rods or ball bearing. not sure.
General comments?
Overall this has been a very good car. Very relable. All the problems people say they have with the 93-97 626.i haven't found true. the trans. is fine. kept fluid changed every 30,000 and oil every 4,000 miles. I am a "Mazda man" will get the new Mpv or Tribute next.
