1999 Mazda 626 LX review from North America
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The Check Engine Light has come on and stays on. This has not yet been resolved, and there are no other symptoms.
General comments?
Maintenance: It has had no maintenance problems for 120,000 miles. I replaced the timing belt at just over 100,000 miles. It is still on its original set of brake pads. I change the oil about every 5000 miles using the least expensive, but good quality oil I can find. The headliner started to fall front and back due to the heat. I used fabric glue to put it in place, and that has held. The original factory radio started going bad after about 3 years. I replaced it and in the process discovered that the cause was due to a poor connection between the front panel and the body of the radio.
Performance: The car has averaged just over 32 MPG since I bought it. While it is not the fastest car on the road, it does all right.
