1991 Mazda 626 LX review from North America
"Excellent car if you plan to keep it untill its sad day of retirement"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Muffler replaced twice. Catalitic converter repalced once. Exhaust pipe to manifold gasket replaced twice. Kept a close eye on the coolant level because the plastic resevoir bottle designed to small so when driving on a hot day it sometimes would overflow so when the engine cools (like overnight) there would not be enough coolant for the radiator to suck back up. Riped out the alarm unit because it got confused sometimes and when I would start the car then alarm would sound and I could not start engine. Automatic transmission operated perfect, but in drive the dash panel light would light up as reverse.
General comments?
Excellent gas mileage;27 street,32 fwy. Srong and reliable engine/transmission. Very cold air condioning. Seperate fresh or recirculate control. Like the center vent that moves the air left and right. Fits 5 people comfortabley. Factory installed bass (under passeger seat) really does put out bass. Trunk space good and also has split rear folding seat that is helpful for my fishing gear. When repairs are needed mechanics are priced from cheap to fair.
