"This is a very strong truck and plan on keeping it for a long time"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

I own an '89 Mazda B2200. The engine has 172,000 miles and misses while driving. I am in the process of putting a new engine in it, but it's a slow process. I need a reman. head and was wondering if anyone knew where I could get a good, but not expensive one. I am putting a header, weber carb, and 2 1/2" pipe with a borla muffler. I need a good head b/c I am planning on runnin now when I get the bottow end of the engine finished. I also need to know it the auto trans. rear end has a higher gear ratio b/c 1st gear sucks. I would appreciate and info anybody can help me with.

General comments?

If anyone has any info, please e-mail me at tweeter7768@hotmail.com.

I own an 89 b2200 and my steady bearing is gone I was looking also at buffing up the rear end on it and found out

that you might be able to use a Toyota rear end, and also depending on the engine a 8.8 mustang rear end, the disadvantage of a mustang rear end is that you will not have the same load power as the truck rear end (you will take off great without a load put slower then normal with a load) there are also some 5 lug setup off of a Chevy or ford that might fit (2.3L ford ranger or a 4- cylinder s10)

B2200 MX-6 Swap:

I have a Mazda B2200 With 157,000 miles on it I'm having a shop put in an MX-6 turbo motor put in with a rebuilt auto trany with shift kit the mx-6 motor is the same block as the b2200 block so no modes needed all you need is ECU (computer) and motor (with turbo,For best bet) I'll get a new rear end after reading the above info this with modes will blow away people at the track to see a mini truck that will go quicker than a Honda Civic, I'm looking forward to this.

I have been looking into the turbo thing for a while. So, I need a MX-6 turbo motor, ecu, and what kind of tranny do you use and what kind of rear end? The b2200 motor I have milked every little bit out of a 60,000 mile motor. SLOW. I need the turbo. Do you guys know if the motor mounts line right up?, etc.

Hi I owned a 1989 Mazda b2200 for a long time. I was having problem with carb + head + ecu. To start the engine had 213k miles, so I rebuilt the engine, got a new head from a Carolina machine shop, went to a salvage yard & found an 86 Mazda 626 with EFI setup, installed it with A MEGASQUIRT EFI controller. The cheapest setup I have installed & it works very well. Does not required fusion/engineering to work with.
