2001 Mazda MPV DX review from North America

I brought a used 2001 Mazda MPV in May 2004 with 80k miles on it. The very next week I had to take it to the shop to fix check engine light issues due to a faulty cable. A few months later one of the oxygen sensor's broke. The Mazda dealer took $450+ to put a new oxygen sensor. In 2005 I was told by the dealer that the drive belt needs to be replaced at $100. December 2005 another oxygen sensor broke, that's another $450+. There was also significant oil drain and had to put new gaskets that I got a local mechanic to do for $400. This vehicle also has a lot of annoying features. Some of them are - A low humming voice coming from the engine mostly during winter time, a bad rotten egg smell (Sulfur), once in a while, again more in winter than any other time, the fuel cap door won't open easily. Sometimes I have to try 20 times at the pump to get it open. Overall I have to say this is a piece of junk and I have told that exact words to Mazda USA from whom I never got a reply. I wish I brought a Dodge Caravan or the Ford Free star which seem to have less problems and even cheaper than this junk Japanese vehicle.
