2000 Mazda MPV LX review from North America

Drivers power door lock actuator broke at 90,000 miles.

Cracked exhaust manifold at 80,000 miles - welded.

Replaced coolant reservoir and water pump at 120,000 miles.

Cracked exhaust manifold at 130,000 miles.

This van has been extremely reliable and has never left us stranded. There have been very few things that have gone wrong with it. It is well worth the money we paid. We just passed 160,000 miles and the van is still going strong. It is getting a bit worn, but that is expected in a van that is almost 10 years old. We also have triplet boys, need I say more.

The V6 engine has sufficient power for most situations, however it is sluggish when fully loaded. We have 5 children, and when we are all in the van with all our luggage for a weekend at the lake, it works pretty hard to get us through the canyon.

We have loved the stow-able third row. This has been a very nice feature considering we also use the van for our trips to the hardware store. We have used this feature a lot.

This van handles very well, very car-like. My wife feels like she is driving a car, which she really likes. It does not feel like a van.

It is getting a bit small for our family now though. Once you get 3 car seats and 2 older kids in, things can get pretty tight. Til now though it has been a great van.
