2000 Mazda MPV DX review from North America
"Not really satisfied"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The front suspension had to be replaced at 50 000 km.
The driver's door lock broke: we had to open passenger's door to get into the car and drive. Get it fixed by the dealer, but broke again few months later.
The engine is knocking: not really a problem, but it can become one eventually.
Rust problem: after one year, there was rust around the windows and near the wheels. Also, the brakes and the frame became rusty fast.
We had some brake problems.
The back door needed repairs twice (the part that maintain it up)
General comments?
I was not really satisfied with this car. It's not really a comfortable car, we had quite an amount of problems, but the design is nice and it handles great.
I would not recommend buying a 2000 or 2001 Mazda MPV: the ones with the 3.0 engine are better and, so far, more reliable. I preferred my old Mercury Villager, which was more comfortable and more reliable.
