1993 Mazda MX3 GS review from North America
"Awesome, Cheap, Honda Killer!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I bought the car at around 140K miles, so I replaced all for struts as a safety precaution. New tires were also needed.
So far my intake hose has cracked, but that was an easy fix. Watch out for cracks in the lines, because it will mess with your sensor.
The next to go was my thermostat, which was a cheap fix, but took forever to find and was a major pain to change. Simply getting to parts in this car is difficult.
Besides that nothing really major has happened wrong to it.
General comments?
Ya, now for the good stuff!
The V6 model of the MX3 is the only one to get, in styling and performance. It has 130hp, which compared to the 4cyl's 88hp, it is a necessity. Honda's will look at you and say "what? v6?" and then get smoked.
In my opinion, it is worth every penny I spent, and will eventually spend fixing it up! With the option to swap a Japanese MX6 2.5L 200hp engine in as a "bolt on mod," you can't pass this car up! (literally!)
Off the line, this car will beat most of the competition in its class. Lots of cargo room in the back, sunroof, and full power features make this also a luxury vehicle! Check it out! I'm sure it will make you smile when you take those mountain roads!
(Did I mention the speedometer goes up to 150mph?)
