I had the exaust line done when I bought it, it needed it.
I also had to replace the alternator a few months later. Can't complain it ran 10 years on the original.
They say this car has only one fault. Poorly shielded electrical components under the hood (alternator) allow snow and salt in the winter to cause short alternator expectancy. Mazda claims it's due to it's "unique" design.
I really like this car. It isn't bad in the snow either, with descent tires that is.
Often enough I cacth people stairing at my car it's sporty look catches eyes.
It is also quite peppy of the line. 106 hp dohc 1.6L the V6 is quite fast, but prone to valve problems. I'd stick with the 4banger.
I paid 4800 for it with 208K. I think it was worth it.
Handles corners like you wouldn't believe. If you're offered one buy it!!
That's halarious. I bought a v6 had 75000 on the motor for 1200. I think you got ripped. And I dog man to hell and I haven't had a problem with it yet in the last 25000.
It's a good price, you obviously just bought a piece. Sounds like you need some friends buddy.
I just bought mine with 160k miles. for $400 and she runs fine,, seems to idle a little high, but I am going to have her tuned, so that shouldn't be a problem. Nice car indeed.
I just brought my 1992 MX3 V6 about 2 weeks ago. It's black with full leather interior. It's brilliant; no rust or rattles, and everything works; well the sunroof sticks sometimes, but that's it. The thing is I only paid £600 for it, so I think you were over charged.
