1989 Mazda MX5 review from Australia and New Zealand
"Reliable, roof off, fun"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The shocks, especially the rears have appeared to 'go'. Chattering on undulations.
General comments?
Handles OK for a car that has knackered shocks - I'm puting yellow koni's on this week.
I'm 6ft 1 and the seating position is good, but perhaps a bit strange? Maybe I haven't found the best spot yet.
The steering wheel is huge on the standard 89 1.6l. I've heard they got a little smaller on the later models. Puting a smaller one on might have an input on seeing the guages properly.
Heater works fantastically.
Overly large ash tray oh my god!
Glove box rattles a bit.
Small boot space (need to fix spare wheel to underside of car).
