1990 Mazda MX5 review from North America
"A class act all the way"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Replaced clutch at 120k, also put in a new timing belt at that time. At 135000 I had the rear brakes replaced. The plastic rear window ripped, so I had to have a complete new convertible top installed. Pricey!
General comments?
Handling and steering are great. Engine could use a bit more power, so I'd get the 1.8 next time. Still the 1.6 loves being revved and has a sporty character. The car fit me like a glove, a delight to drive. I found the hardtop very useful during winter driving.
