2004 Mazda MX6 LS review from North America
"What a fun car to drive! Watch out for untimely repairs..."
What things have gone wrong with the car?
New brakes, rotors, calipers AND CV boots when I first bought the car.
Alternator failed at 170,000km.
Head gasket leak.
New suspension: Control arms, ball-joints, sway-bar links etc.
Needed a tune-up.
Needed new trunk hydraulics.
02 sensors replaced.
Heater core slowly dying.
Small oil leak but manageable.
(REPAIRS are costly!!!) Distributor cap is $130 alone... never-mind a full tuneup!)
General comments?
This car has very beautiful handling around turns.
The paint on this car still looks great! (15 years later and it's still competing with brand new vehicle paint jobs - minus the paint chips). The MX6 impresses many when driving!
Amazing stock stereo.
The interior is gorgeous with the leather dash and seats. I've seen the insides of a 2004 Lancer and many other 2000 models, and this 94 Mazda outperforms them all.
This car has a great rear window view, as well as great shoulder blind-spot check views.
I've spent over $3000 up-keeping this 94 Mazda Mx6. Repairs were a bit harsh, but I'm glad to upkeep such an elegant car that you don't see too much on the road anymore. It has been reliable ever since the repairs.
I will ride it until it dies, or until I graduate from university in 4 years!
