1995 Mazda MX6 LS review from North America
"A gem, a future classic.."
What things have gone wrong with the car?
CV joints needed replaced shortly after purchase. My fault since I didn't take the dealer up on their "Within 2 weeks we'll fix anything" offer.
Timing belt and water pump replacement after car started running very hot around 95k miles.
General comments?
I've never received anything, but praise on the appearance of this car. It's like nothing else on the road now or then. The car is the beautiful shade of reddish/maroon, I think it's called Rose. I have 17" Enkei Shogun rims with lo-pro Kumho tires, which definateley adds to it's aggressive appearance.
The car is quick as well, especially off the line. I don't think it can compete with a lot of the more advanced cars on the road, Vtec Preludes and the like. It's quickness and speed is ample, but I don't think this car was designed as a street racer, just a good looker.
I'm having a lot of trouble letting go of this Mx. My mileage is up at 101k now, I haven't taken care of it as well as I should, and now I need something I can definately depend on for at least another 6 years. The problem is that there's nothing out there that can compare to it in my eyes. Plus, the dealer wants to give me a paltry $2000 as trade in.
If and when I get rid of this car, I think I can safely say that I won't find another car made today with anywhere near the same personality as this MX.
