1982 Mazda RX7 Series 2 review from Australia and New Zealand
"Awesome chick magnet!!! Best car ever!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Engine started to wear out around 300,000k, replaced.
Transmission re-worked.
Flooded once, not hard to fix.
Needs a bit of a tune up.
Interior a bit worn, not a real issue, good for its age and considering it used to spend almost every day of its life out in the sun (Australian sun...)
Paint is old and not so shiny!!
General comments?
Damn fine car! Handles like nothing else and goes like a bullet; friends won't even try to race me.
Eats piston engines for breakfast!
Very reliable. Just treat it right, right from the start. Let it warm up completely before you drive it anything above a stroll, use genuine non synthetic oils and change it every 3000ks and don't you dare even slightly let it overheat or you will pay big time. Do that and you will stay happy.
Awesome styling makes this a 100% chick magnet! Girls can't keep away from this machine!
Factory standard sound system is still excellent, I don't need to spend money there.
Interior is a bit cramped according to some, but for my build (I'm like 5'6" or something) it is perfect.
Couldn't ask for anything more in a car, once you drive it you love it. It really delivers the goods as far as sports car material goes.
If you do look for one, get a turbo model and start gathering up your courage before you touch the pedal...
