I just picked up a Turbo '87 RX-7. It's a former class champion GT2 car. Unfortunately the most recent owner cooked the motor. I'm not a lic. mechanic, but I was considering the rebuild myself. The engine is already out of the car. Should I have it done professionally? This is my first rotary engine.
The LSD was rebuilt and a new turbo added back in 2001. Since then it has seen about 10 hours' use. This car has already been a pleasure to own, though.
Are there any transmission options for a 13B?
There is a fellow in Asheville NC that is "the" expert in RX-7 rotaries. He stays busy, but if interested, I can send you his contact info. Good luck, Mick (828-628-8302)
YO, I need at motor, I want an s6 or s7, where can I get one?
I also own a 1987 rx7 it really is a sporty car it handles so great better thean any other car I have droven. and it is true the 13b engien does have a lot of power to it. it does have some problems to it, but it still handles great!!!
I know a friend selling a 87 RX7 NA for $3000, but as a friend is willing to sell it to me for $1000 because he is desperate for money. It has a rebuilt engine and only 25,000 on the new rebuilt. If I do get it, it would be my daily commute car so I was wondering would it be worth it for the poor gas mileage?
Cheers, Ted.
