2007 Mazda RX8 gran touring review from North America
"The Mazda RX8 is one terrific piece of automotive brilliance"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
At 6500 miles I have not experienced any issues concerning quality, construction, nor engineering.
I've noticed some troubling chips in the paint around the forward facing surfaces. (due in no small part I'm sure to excessive highway speeds)
The windshield also has some fresh chips and pits.
General comments?
This is a good car choice for those who want a well balanced, semi practical, very eye catching, and unique driving experience. If your looking for economy or blistering performance look elsewhere.
The handling of the RX8 will exceed most people's nerve and certainly all legal speed restrictions. To explore the cars' true potential a race track is recommended.
The car's interior environment is both pleasing to the eye as well as functionally coherent. Controls are within easy reach, straight forward, and simple to operate. The navigation system is somewhat more challenging however most functions only operate when the car is not in motion.
