This car goes like stink. It's fast, handles excellently, and is a joy to drive.
I'm 6'4 280lbs. and I fit behind the wheel perfectly, something I couldn't do in a Honda S2000 or Nissan 350Z.
The Bose System is nice and sounds good. The radio/CD/MD player is integrated with the center console so switching out stereo components is not easy or cheap.
The trunk is small. With the spare tire kit, it's even smaller. If you're trying to haul anything more than a dozen bags of groceries, you're out of luck. Plenty of space for weekend luggage, weekly groceries, etc.
The fit and finish is excellent in this car. The interior feels sporty. The dash gives the impression it came out of a fighter jet cockpit or F-1 racer.
The transmission is awesome. Nice short throw shifter makes zipping through six gears effortless.
I own a 2006 RX8 Shinka, 2000 miles. The ride is a little stiff, but you get used to it. The driver side door handle had a gasket left off at the factory, and a styrofoam insert was not taped correctly on that door, causing a rattle and a pop when the door was closed. Fixed under warranty no problem. The drivers side visor disintegrated on me, the clamshell came apart -- poor design. Fixed under warranty, no problem.
The car is a little slow off the line, but very strong after around 3,500 rpms. The seats fit like a glove. The sunroof is almost too low for my 5'11", but not quite. The sirius radio is OK, but the programming is not what I'd hoped. Mazda advertises 1 year subscription, but Sirius only gave 6 month credit, even after arguing.
My dealer was Hiley Mazda, salesman Hank Diggins -- an excellent man. No run around! Bought for invoice + 300.
