1994 Mercedes-Benz 190 E review from UK and Ireland
"This car can deliver anything one could reasonably expect from it"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Alternator cooked the battery at 25,000 miles.
General comments?
Superb road holding.
Notwithstanding the initial problem with the alternator no other problems whatsoever.
Gear change tends to be harsh under hard acceleration, but smooth as silk if taken gently.
For a prestigious vehicle the running costs are very low, (I have spent more on keeping my wife's Ford Scorpio on the road in the last six months than on my Mercedes in the last six years!)
Amazing reliability.
Superb build quality (97,500 miles and not a squeak, whine or rattle)
