1985 Mercedes-Benz 190 e review from North America
What things have gone wrong with the car?
According to the temperature gauge, it is always overheated. Needed a belt as soon as I got it. It also needed a belt tensioner after a short time. Replaced eng. temp. sensors, radiator. I checked the h2o pump and tested the electromagnetic fan,but it still overheats? Above 100 C? Driver side seat springs are weak and or dilapitated. Got it form a big guy. Hood paint has totaly failed, clear coat at least. Rear driverside window dosen't work. Exaust needs cat. back replacement, If not cat. rep. Fuel filter needs replacement. Aux. h2o pump leaks, and needs replacement.
General comments?
All said this is the most unreal modestly accelerating car ever. The handling is unreal and outperforms the engine. This is a highway machine, loves the speed. This car sticks to the road. Could use the 16 v, but the 8 v avoids the temptation of lots of tickets. This car wants to do it. Beautiful car, looks fast,- 110mph? I will never sell it. Hope to upgrade motor someday maybe just the cylinder head, who knows. any advice welcome.
