2000 Mercedes-Benz A-Class Avantgarde review from UK and Ireland
"Expensive and dull"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
On collection all tires 15 psi over-pressurized.
Constant squealing from front brakes at low speed.
Brake light switch failed which caused instrument cluster to fail.
Fuel gage constantly under-read: replaced.
Speedometer constantly over-reading: replaced.
Intermittent fault in instrument cluster causing various warning lights to illuminate.
General comments?
Comfortable seating for town/motorway driving.
Good entry/exit for medium to tall drivers.
Very jiggly ride due to short wheelbase.
Expensive for a car of questionable quality.
1600 is underpowered for automatic gearbox.
