Clutch drag at 11,000 miles; needed a new clutch.
Good points:
It's a Mercedes - feelgood factor
Excellent handling, roadholding, braking.
Bad points:
The worst manual gearbox I have ever driven; it's notchy, and takes a real shove to get it into the gears, easy to miss the gate on fast changes, especially into third.
Stupid foot handbrake makes it a real pain on hills.
Poor interior space, especially in the back.
Seats have poor support around the shoulders, they are too narrow.
Very limited equipment, not even variable wash/wipe, or mp3 capability or heated seats or digital aircon, or CD changer.
Cannot fold the mirrors in when parked.
Drone from the engine on the motorway.
Poor instruments, cannot see the outside temperature without going through menus, and the clock disappears when cruise is selected.
It's a run out model, let's hope the new one is better.
Everbody knows that, if you buy a Mercedes you have the auto box, they have never built good manual box's and why should they? They are a luxury car company, and anybody wanting to buy into the market buys autos.
Funny review this one is. Did you test drive the car before buying it?
Typical Mercedes. Great name, but nothing more. I has got to be one of the least reliable vehicles out there. You should have bought an Opel.

That's rich. To compare a Mercedes with an Opel is completely absurd, in so many ways! Security, reliability, craftsmanship, etc... I have had always Mercedes, with very high mileages and I have never had an important problem with any of them. I drive now one with 170,000kms and it feels like the first day.
Do you know what I have had to change in all these 9 years of ownership, other than oil every 15,000kms more or less? brake discs at 100,000kms, 2 wipers blades and 2 light bulbs and that's it, not even the battery.
So, come on, don't trash a brand just that easily, there are many of us that do know which cars are worth it.
I agree with comment above. Best car there is BAR NONE! My latest MB has 256,000 miles and is running very strong still! Build quality is the best.
Yeah I have to repeat an earlier comment... did you test drive it first???
If not then you have only yourself to blame for being disappointed with the vehicle.
