The dashboard started rattling within 3 months of ownership.
The rear seat (second row dual seat) would not lock when pushed flush to the ground for cargo carrying purposes.
There are 2 positions when the rear seat (second row dual seat) is used for seating. In the rear of the 2 positions (when the second row dual seat is used for seating) it would not lock and slide forward when brakes were applied.
The windows stopped working, they went down and then not come up and the motor had to be replaced.
The handle bar to raise the second row single seat broke thereby preventing access to the third row of seats.
I have had a Honda Accord for the past 4 years and it has not been in the shop even once except for the regular maintenance. I have had the ML320 (2001 model) for just 2 years and something or the other seems to keep failing.
I am extremely concerned about what will happen after the 4 year warranty period. It looks like it will be in the shop every few months with some failure and end up costing at least $1000 per year after the warrantry period gets over.
This review is very representative of the vehicle, which does not deserve the MBZ badge. I can't believe MBZ would produce such a tragedy, and I can't believe they are ignoring the owners (the least they should do is give FREE extended warranties). I am in need of a new car, and will not consider another MBZ due to this experience.
