1999 Mercedes-Benz M-Class ML 320 review from North America
"Built like a tank, requies almost as much repair work"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Fuel pump, 2 week wait for the part, no
loaner provided, the first year.
Various electrical glitches the first year, Dodge Neon provided loaner after
complaining.
Plastic interior parts are wearing out.
Engine would not start this year, new
air flow senser, master computer chip,
and other parts replaced. Under warranty, no loaner provided.
General comments?
On the good side this car was in two
SERIOUS accidents and NO ONE was hurt.
Side swiped by an 18 wheeler (their fault). No intrusion, frame not bent.
"Your old Honda would have been squashed like a bug," reported the responding police officer who knew me.
Drove away.
Rammed from behind while stopped behind
a bus. The car hit us at 50+mph, pushed the ML 320 into the bus and still pushed the bus and us 10 feet.
No one in our car was hurt. Frame was not bent, no intrusion into the interior.
Oh, and it does great in snow and off road.
