Fuel injectors had to be changed
gasoline hoses had to be replaced
car should have been designed with 15 inch rims.
Over all, the car is fun to drive and it is a head turner.
The Mercedes Benz has and always will be tha classic car.
Currently, I'm investing in the restoration of a 1973 450 SL convertible. The car is in excellent shape. Both the interior and exterior are flawless. The car is silver, has a blue soft top, red leather interior and the hard top is ready for the winter season. The only thing that is wrong with it is that the accelerator won't travel and the car won't pass 10 MPH. Is this a common problem or is this due to the car being stored for such a long time? The engine responded to my pulling on the level by the carburetor, though it was very stiff. Is it possible that the linkage from the pedal to the carburetor and connectors may only need to be cleaned to allow the car to accelerate smoothly? If you can help me with some advice, I would really appreciate it.
