1982 Mercedes-Benz W123 300D Turbo from North America - Comments

"A solid, safe car; expensive to service but well worth it"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

The air conditioning compressor went out around 150K miles.

It will soon need new front ball joints.

It has otherwise been very reliable.

General comments?

This has been a great car - reliable, comfortable and safe.

Not the fastest car, but wonderful for long (800-900 mile) drives.

I agree with his opinion. It's expensive to repair, but it really worth it. We bought this car about 3 years ago, we invested in her repairs about %300, but it is paying off, because it became better.

Her diesel expenditure lowered from 12-15 litres to 8-12. Also it began to work more silently and powerful.

Mercedes made and makes perfect cars. I will drive it until her engine "will die".

I love this car, we've had it since 82 and has done 300,000 KMs. Still runs great. Best and safe for highway cruising.

This car was ahead of it time in 1982. It drives like or better than any new 4 cylinder gasoline engine. I find her to be very service friendly for any level of a mechanic. The more the car is maintained the better it will drive. I love the ride of my diesel going 80 MPH on the freeway.
