1982 Mercedes-Benz W123 240 review from North America
"The greatest automobile ever built"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Basic wear out parts.. timing chains, ball joints brakes a/c.
General comments?
I bought this car NEW in 1982 and now have passed the HALF MILLION mile mark and thought I should celebrate with a review it has never broken on the highway and left me stranded I have always maintained it and replaced parts as needed including timing chain every 100,000 miles or so as of today each original item works a/c sunroof vacuum doors all of it. Yes I have replaced them here and there, but what a car well worth it it has paid for itself over and over. The engine or trans has NOT been rebuilt. Regualr maintenence pays with these cars. What a car. Would drive it anywhere.
