Fire in alternator (apparently common)
power steering pump is iffy
transmission rebuilt twice.
I take three four, sometimes five dogs to dog trials, often 12 hours, occasionally longer, stopping only for gas (and to let the dogs pee). I'm running over wide tires for better bite, set the toe in and camber to police specs, high performance shocks, rear sway bars and limited slip differential. I've installed an mp3 accepting stereo and set oil and temp gauges on the a pillar. I've repainted, losing the wretched fake wood. Net cost: probably about five grand (2 for the paint), but the end result is an utterly reliable land yacht with okay road handling, good power, 23 mpg, and the kind of personal luxury that means me and my copilot can get out of the car after 26 hours without snarling at each other.
There's plenty of these low mileage yachts around and no, you're hair won't turn blue.
"rear sway bars"? How did you manage to install more than one?
And the "wretched fake wood" is the only thing that makes these cars stand out. Lose that, and you may as well be driving an old Econoline or similar.
There are still plenty of eighties Grand Marquis around with low miles, though they're definitely getting dearer, but as for Colony Parks - those are very rare in good low mileage condition.
