1990 Mercury Cougar LS from North America - Comments

"Very nice"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

A/C has gone out at some odd mileage.

I had a cruise control problem.

General comments?

It was my aunt's car and she gave it to me for my sixteenth birthday.

She bought it from a dealership in 1990, and has had nothing wrong with it.

In 1994 a bad driver (an old person) somehow bumped the shifter on the dash into reverse in traffic and didn't know it, and when the light turned green she went flying back into my aunt's Cougar.

She had it fixed.

It is a nice car, and at first, I hated the car, but now that I have seen how many people admire the Cougar, I love it to death.

I had Weld Racing 16" Tomahawk wheels put on the car, and a supercharger, and I have two fifteen inch Orions in the trunk.

I catch everyone's eye now, it may not be some high priced sports car, but it (in my eyes) is worth more.

Hi, my name is Nick I own a 1992 Cougar. Someone backed into my car as well. I am getting gunmetal black rims with a chrome ring on the out side put on soon. I also plan to put a good head unit in, also I plan on putting a new bumper, grille, and hood on. I will finish the cosmetic part of my car soon. Next I will install new speakers to go along with the head unit. Yes I agree that the 88 through 97 cougars are respected by many people and admired.

I am considering purchasing an 1990 Cougar LS from my mechanic. I have always loved the Mercury Cougar, from 1968 to its merciless murder in 1997. The car has always been a quiet, comfortable and sport ride, with class and style that most others (including its sister Thunderbird) lack. I have owned a 1976, 1977, 1986 Xr7 turbo, two 1987's, one V8, one V6. I loved 'em all. My question is, where did whomever get a supercharger and what type for their 1990? Did you use a stock one from the XR7? Thanks.
