1997 Mercury Cougar XR7 review from North America
"The car is great but it will just about empty your wallet!!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
When I first got the car I noticed there were cracks in the heads and the water pump was bad. The gaskets were also leaking. The motor had to be replaced at a cost of $2000.
A few months later the water pump went again and so did the power steering pump, That cost me $300.
The check engine light is on.
The intake manifold may be bad.
The tire pressure light stays on, and I replaced the tires but every now and then I hear clicking noises coming from the tires.
The biggest problem of all is that the car will run fine, and then just stall out while your driving. Does anybody know why this is? If anyone does know please just write it in the comments why that does happen. I have checked the entire car and I can't find the problem!!!
General comments?
I really do like this car, just that it costs so much money to keep it going, and being that I have put so much money I just want to enjoy the car.
