"They make them a little weird"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
There was a problem with the passenger side window when I bought the car; I would press the switch and the window would not respond. Turned out the harness just had to be reseated.
The trunk would not close because the trunk hinge was bent and had to be replaced (only cost $4.95)
O2 sensor (oxygen sensor) at 84k and $140 to fix. The O2 sensor went at 95k on my previous Cougar.
General comments?
I had another Cougar before this one but it was the XR7 with the 3.8. Thought that was fast. It could never win a race with this cougar. It has 60 more horsepower. I have beaten tuners, V8's, a Benz CLK, and was able to keep up but not able to beat a Vette. Just to let everyone know that this only has a 2.5L V6 with not much engine mod's.
This is a very attractive looking car.
I strongly suggest that those who have the same car to take special care if you drive it very hard. Possibly upgrade the brakes and transmission cooler. Also do not get cheap tires OK. High performance tires are just as important to this car as the steering wheel.
Just wish I can drive it more, but I work a lot.
