1988 Mercury Cougar LS review from North America
"Most reliable vehicle I've ever owned. Would buy another"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Replaced alternator at 92,000 miles.
Replaced starter at 115,000 miles.
Replaced power steering pump at 89,000 miles.
Replaced fuel pump at 210,000 miles.
Replaced A/C compressor 105,000 miles.
Replaced ignition switch twice 120,000 and 215,000 miles.
Whine in differential, needs rebuilt 220,000 miles.
General comments?
This car handles well, and gets good gas mileage.
The engine and transmission still pull strong.
Seat are comfortable, and interior is spacious.
