1992 Mercury Cougar LS review from North America
"A tractionless steel tank, that can save your butt"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Doors began malfunctioning after 100k miles, constantly ding no matter how hard the door is shut, and the wire is impossible to find.
Transmission began rolling over poorly after 70k miles.
Has a tendancy to go through oil rather quickly.
General comments?
Saved my butt in a 60mph head on collision with a Camry, I only got a bruise above my left eye, even though it got totalled.
Entirely too heavy for an old person car to be honest.
Poor traction, worthless in rain, snow, or hail.
Good luck moving this beast in poor weather from a stand still, you will see drivers rolling their eyes at you as you try to get through the lights.
I reccomend an economy car, even though the Cougar saved my life still. For all my love of the car, I still would like a Civic or Corolla.
