1978 Mercury Cougar XR7 review from North America
"The greatest luxury sports car made"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Not much, the brakes needed a sevice.
And the vacuum lines need work.
General comments?
I first bought a Cougar reluctantly when I needed a car. Then when I first drove it I was amazed.
This is my second, the other got hit. Driving this car is a pleasure. It is like no other car on the road and when you drive it you feel like it is the only car of its class on the road. I drove it from Jersey to Maine and back, and never felt the need or want for anything while driving. A Mercedes could cost more, but not ride as well. If you know the top speed please tell me and post it please. I think it must be close to 180. Thanks.
