1989 Mercury Cougar LS review from North America
"The cheapest rear-wheel drive sports-styled car that anyone can have a lot of fun in."
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The short time I own it:
two front ball joints had to be replaced.
The fuell injectors are not clean, it quits a lot.
The starter relay wasn't working, it didn't start until we fixed it
the usual fuse or two.
And some electrical problems (ex.
Tail light short out).
General comments?
The interior is roomy and comfortable. The engine is quiet, but powerful. But overall my favorite part of the car is rear-wheel drive, it makes everything so much fun (burnouts, tailslides, ect.) Yet winter weather handling is very poor. Also when the governor tops out at 127, you know you have a fun car.
